In the greatest of tapestry, we are all part of the creator’s carefully selected characters to play our role on the stage called life. The woven characters mix and merge, forming bonds of life. The bonds stronger blend as one, and the weaker, make their impressions while they leave. But every person takes a piece of us with them dead or alive. The alive always have a choice to get back, but those dead are gone forever, leaving behind a mountain of memories and a vacuum that none can fill in.
They say death is a tragedy when it’s young and it’s a transformation of the old, but what about the not-so-old who have just started to ease down, who only dreamt of spending some time with their significant other. The sorrow I feel in your absence is all the love that is still left unexpressed. We shared decades of life twining as part of this scary life, making it less scary one day at a time. Hundreds and thousands of moments spent with each other sharing and caring, expressing the love in one and a million ways simultaneously. With one bright moment at a time, we tied the threads of life stronger and deeper until the day you chose to leave my back and walk ahead of me.
It is a fond memory for me, every day of the early morning walks we shared; you have always been the silent protector around me. While sitting on the park bench, the armrests, the same support to hold me while climbing the steps, so many more to dwell in remembrance. We grew bolder and stronger together in the scary world around, we made our own pleasant life. You were a beautiful and precious addition to my life. It has been a year already you went ahead of me; I have walked on the shards with bare feet of grief for a brief time, but I am not sad anymore. I know you went ahead of me to make my way easy to get back to you, which I look forward to…!
My life with you was all about joy and love; with your passing, I have learned gratitude for the beautiful experience of wearing a soulful smile with every memory.
